THE PROPHECY

Hey Nomads & Entrepreneurs
I have big news. I’m leaving Vancouver, Canada for good. Why walk away from a comfortable city? Because I believe even tiny actions (the butterfly effect) can spark massive change, especially now that frontier AI and HPC (high-performance computing) expansions stand to lift entire communities if we steer them right. I’m calling this next phase my “hero’s journey,” and I’m hoping you’ll join me on the ride. 👊
We, the Human Race
When I say “we,” I’m talking about all 8-ish billion of us living on this planet. Elon Musk wants to take us multi-planetary, pointing rockets skyward with SpaceX while HPC-driven AI is transforming daily life at warp speed. Yet, behind these jaw dropping possibilities lurk real concerns about an ever widening wealth gap, especially for people who aren’t even online yet. If HPC is the new global power grid, are we making sure it reaches those who need it most? 🌍
The Dark Side of the Divide
Plenty of sci-fi films warn us how bad it can get if the powerful hoard advanced tech. According to the UNICEF-ITU “How Many Children and Youth Have Internet Access at Home?” report “2.2 billion – or 2 in 3 children and young people aged 25 years or less – do not have internet access at home”, 🤯
That’s not just a minor inconvenience, imagine missing out on modern education or job prospects because you literally have never used a computer in your entire life. Meanwhile, HPC expansions and AI breakthroughs are ready to explode.
The question: Do we use HPC to bridge that gap or widen it further? 💵
Elon Musk openly states he wants to make the human race a multiplanetary species with his spaceships from spacex.com. This is a long term play. He is thinking far down the road. Down a continuum of possibilities if you will. Where there are an infinite number of things that could happen due to many unknown variables including but not limited to the advancement of artificial intelligence. Arguably one of the most significant technologies to ever impact the human race. 🧑💻
There are endless Science-Fiction films that show the possibilities of what wealth divide at scale could look like and it’s definitely not pretty. 😨

Just imagine how much money the worlds governments, corporations and wealthy elite will have compared to those who literally don’t even know how to use a computer. You think these people will have any control over their lives? they will be at the mercy of whatever reality they were born in to unless they have extreme grit, intellect and execution skills to drive out of such a disadvantage with practically zero resources. 🥹
Imagine how significant the wealth gap will be in one thousand years from now. Corruption is very real in this world. Based on past and present data on how we treat each other there are no guarantees that the wealthy will take care of the poor. 🙏
Now of course there are many variables this could go many ways including turning the planet into a Utopia, but we should probably hedge our bets. Once time has passed, it will be hard to undo. Unless those capable bless those who are incapable.🤔
But look how much money already exists and what we are doing with it? It’s almost like an AI needs to take initiative on global equality because clearly humans are just burning money left right and center on all kinds of useless shit including war. 🤷♂️
The Data: Digital Exclusion Is Real
The digital divide, or the gap between those with and without access to technology, has profound implications for children globally, particularly those from low-income families and marginalized communities. This inequality limits their ability to acquire digital skills, access education, and participate in the modern economy, perpetuating cycles of poverty and social exclusion.
Two-thirds of the world’s school-age children have no home internet, says UNICEF and ITU.
Fewer than 5% of children in low-income nations enjoy any broadband connectivity.
HPC watchers like TechCrunch and HPCwire highlight new HPC data centers in wealthier regions but note the majority remain unreachable for those in poorer countries, an uncomfortable mismatch. 📉
Butterfly Effect in Action
Small choices ripple out. My leaving Vancouver might sound personal, but it’s part of a bigger puzzle of connecting HPC expansions, digital literacy, and neglected communities. If HPC (High Performance Compute) can revolutionize climate modeling or accelerate drug discovery, it can also help entire villages leapfrog out of poverty with telemedicine or advanced remote learning. My hero’s journey is about fighting for that inclusive future. 🦋
The Mission: Your Support
I’m headed to the Rio Web Summit next, forging alliances with HPC vendors, AI educators, and other technologists & entrepreneurs who see HPC expansions as an opportunity for everyone not just the already privileged. But real talk, traveling the globe, developing technology partnerships, and championing digital equality isn’t cheap. We need backing from you, the NomadTechnologist.com community.
Every link you click in our sponsor section helps fund this vision.
$1 or $2 per click can go a long way toward our mission to support less fortunate communities.🙏
